JVL’s RV-14: Wings, Fuel Tanks (Part 27)

This blog was created to memorialize the building process of my Van's Aircraft RV-14 and to satisfy the requirements for certification in the Experimental Amateur Built Aircraft category. It will also serve as a central location for ME to reference in the future on processes and techniques I used during the build. Additionally, it will allow my family, friends, and other interested builders the opportunity to follow along during my build…..and might be helpful to someone along the way.

Wings, Fuel Tanks (Part 27)

As with the Left Fuel Tank, the Right Fuel Tank will also get a Vent Line. Today, I installed the 54 1/16” long Fuel Tank Vent Line fabricated from AT0-032X1/4 Soft Aluminum Tube. An AN818-4D nut and AN819-4D sleeve was place on the inboard side of the Vent Line and it was flared to 37 degrees. Lastly, the AN832-4D Bulkhead Union and AN924-4D nut was installed (temporarily) to the Tank Inboard Rib-AFT as shown in the plans excerpt below.

Here is the installed Vent Line for the Right Fuel Tank.
