JVL’s RV-14: Empennage, Elevator (Part 16)

This blog was created to memorialize the building process of my Van's Aircraft RV-14 and to satisfy the requirements for certification in the Experimental Amateur Built Aircraft category. It will also serve as a central location for ME to reference in the future on processes and techniques I used during the build. Additionally, it will allow my family, friends, and other interested builders the opportunity to follow along during my build…..and might be helpful to someone along the way.

Empennage, Elevator (Part 16)

I didn't have much time tonight, so didn't cover a lot of ground. As mentioned in my last post, I started tonight's session by back-riveting the E-1008B Ribs to the Right Bottom Skin. Here is the Right Bottom Skin with the six Ribs installed.

Next, I back-riveted the E-1008A Ribs to the E-00901B Left Bottom Skin as pictured below.

According to the plans, the next step will be to rivet the Trim Access Reinforcement Doubler to the Left Bottom Skin. I will start there during the next session.
