Tonight's session started with riveting the E-1008A Ribs to the E-00900A Right Top Skin. Each one of the six Ribs were back-riveted using AN426AD3-3 flush rivets.
As I mentioned last night, the Trim Access Reinforcement Doubler gets riveted to the Left Bottom Skin. Here is the Reinforcement Doubler attached to the Skin, minus the Reinforcement Doubler Brace. The Brace will be installed in the white circle below in the next few days. The plans have you cleco the Doubler into place and then rivet it to the Skin. I decided not to cleco the pieces and found that back-riveting these rivets was much easier and produced a great product. This was just my preference, as the rivets could have also been squeezed with the clecos installed.
Here is the actual Reinforcement Doubler Brace and will be installed in the next few days.
Below, the Right Top and Bottom Skins were mated by riveting the E-1008A and E-1008B Ribs. In order to have room for the rivet squeezer, I started riveting from the outside edge of the Skin and "rolled" the Skin toward the inside edge. Each Rib "set" received four LP4-3 pop rivets. As I moved from Rib to Rib, I moved the mixing cup just enough to allow room for the squeezer. I got this idea back in Section 7 during the Rudder assembly. A second set of hands would have obviously been better, but this worked out pretty well.
Here are all six of the Ribs with the 24 LP4-3 rivets installed.
